Ray Allen College Career

Ray Allen played for the University of UCONN where he was the starting point guard from 1993 to 1996.  Allen averaged 19 points per game, 2.4 Assist per game, and 1.6 steals per game.  He also shot 44.8% behind the arc and had a 48.7% FG %.  Ray Allen received First-Team All-American honors in 1995-1996 college basketball season and was named the Big East College Basketball Player of the Year.

Ray Allen was the only UCONN player, in school history to every score over the 1,000 point mark, which was done during his sophomore year. He was the leading scorer for the Huskies and was dropping three pointers from all over the arc.  He scored 118 of his 273 attempted shots.  Allen finished his UConn career third on the Huskies' career scoring list with 1,922 points and set a single-season school record by connecting on 115 three-pointers in 1995-96.

Ray Allen was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the fifth pick of the 1996 NBA Draft. Immediately after his selection, Allen and Andrew Lang were traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for the rights to fourth pick Stephon Marbury.

In 2001, he was named honorary captain of the 25-member UConn All-Century Basketball Team, which was well deserved.
